The Pilates Clinic in Wimbledon, London, UK
Welcome to The Pilates Clinic in Wimbledon, a state of the art Pilates studio. I am Lisa Lamberti, and along with my amazing team of Pilates instructors, we invite you to come and experience our “strategic approach to better health”.
Come join us at The Pilates Clinic in Wimbledon. We offer a variety of Pilates classes and private sessions to suit all levels of fitness, from beginners to advanced Pilates.
Group reformer classes are aimed at those who already have a base level understanding of Pilates and who are looking for something a little more challenging, with a cardiovascular element to the sessions. We also offer Beginner group classes for those who are complete beginners!
Semi-private Pilates sessions offer the next best thing to a private session. The structure of the class and the equipment used, mirror a private session but you share the instructor with one other person.

Private one-on-one Pilates sessions address your personal needs (eg, are you an athlete, dancer or pregnant? Do you have a particular body type, or injury? etc). You receive full one to one attention to assess your needs and ensure your continued progress. Couples who want to share can buy private sessions and share, which is cheaper than each buying a semi private.

These classes are multilevel, but not recommended for total beginners, and definitely not if there are injuries, as they are not gentle in their nature.

PILATES WITH SPINAL / DISC CONDITIONS
“In 2004 I had an accident which left me with three prolapsing discs in my lumbar spine, chronic lower back pain and sciatica. For five years, the only way I could manage my pain was through prescribed pain killers and muscle relaxants. I was approaching my thirties but I felt very old, immobile and depressed. There were days … Read More →
PILATES THROUGH ARTHRITIS AND ANKYLOSING SPONDILYTIS
“After 25 years of living with Ankylosing Spondylitis I had my first session at the Pilates Clinic. It felt like a wonderful new system to manage my difficulties, I was genuinely thrilled. 5 years later, Pilates and the Pilates clinic have made a huge difference to my quality of life.
I was diagnosed with AS at 24 but … Read More →
PILATES WITH MS
“I am relatively lucky in that my MS has progressed very slowly over many years and, in my early 70s, I am still comparatively mobile. It started forty years or so ago, probably triggered by hormonal changes during pregnancy. It mainly affects my limbs, particularly my legs where I have lost a fair amount of sensation and muscle tone…. Read More →
PILATES FOR PARKINSONS
“I walked into The Pilates Clinic on Elm Grove at noon on a Monday in early January 2013 in a state of shock. My previous appointment had been at St George’s Hospital. My brain and all my emotions were working in overdrive to absorb the news the Doctor had just given me. Rewind several years and I had had a busy job… Read More →
PILATES FOR SCOLIOSIS
” My name is Rika, I am a Pilates Instructor at The Pilates Clinic and I have lived with a severe scoliosis (a three-dimensional twist of the spine, curving side to side to form a C or S shape) since the age of 14. Over time, I have learned to implement a number of methods of managing my condition, leading me to discover the… Read More →
PILATES FOR ACL AND OTHER KNEE REHAB
“After a skiing accident (fractured tibia, ruptured ACL, torn meniscus) I waited six weeks and then had an ACL reconstruction. We worked on strengthening… Read More →
PILATES FOR RUNNERS
“Some of you may know me and know of my passion for running. Soon after my motivations changed as I started to set bigger challenges for myself 5k … Read More →
PILATES FOR HYPERMOBILITY
“Hypermobility is a surprisingly common condition and many people don’t actually know they have it. Marked by excessive movement around the joints which gives the appearance of being more flexible. Sometimes the condition can lead to pain or injury (sprains & strain) to muscles because the muscles have to work overtime to stabilise and support the joints. This is usually done in an inefficient way, meaning the wrong muscles start … Read More →
DESK POSTURE AND PILATES
“” For those of you who know me, you’ll know I have a 9-5 job in addition to teaching, so I know a thing or two about being stuck at a desk. Our bodies hate sitting down for prolonged periods, yet we spend on average five years of our lives sat at a desk! Our joints stiffen, muscles become under-utilised, we don’t make efficient use of our musculoskeletal system… all contributing to poor posture and limited flexibility… Read More →
Conditions we can help with
There are many things to love about Pilates, but the one we love the most is its ability to teach people about their bodies. So often we move without thinking, but Pilates gives us the time, the space and the tools to learn to move intelligently and thoughtfully.
There are no pre-requisites to becoming a client at The Pilates Clinic, all you need is your body, with all its issues, and a mind, willing to embrace change.
At The Pilates Clinic in Wimbledon, our years of experience have given us the skills to identify what it is that your body needs. Whether it be relief from pain, or to enhance your sporting performance, we would love to help you.
Aside from general postural realignment, toning and strengthening, here are some of the conditions we can help with and regularly work with:
- Spinal/disc injuries, degeneration, deviations
- Ankylosing Spondylitis
- ACL rehab post surgery, or meniscus injuries/repairs
- MS and other autoimmune conditions
- If you have something that is not listed, email us to ask
